Helping Middle School Students Learn About Mathematics
Make sure that your children know their multiplication tables.  You can help them practice these in the car or while waiting at the doctor's office.  Dr. Math provides many suggestions to make learning multiplication tables fun.

Talk about math - At the store, ask your child to help you figure out which product is the best deal.  When traveling, help your child calculate how much more time it will take to get to your destination.  At the restaurant, let your child help calculate the tip.  Encourage your child to help with the cooking, especially the measuring.

Ask Dr. Math - Dr. Math can help you with all of your math questions.  He has probably answered it already, so search those archives.

The 24 Game - Yes, you can play the 24 game online.  This game promotes the learning of tables and facts and is highly recommended.

Pennsylvania Department of Education - They want your kids to succeed almost as much as we do.  Here are some suggestions for helping.
